The fallout from the latest Mel Gibson scandal, specifically the release of recorded phone calls between the actor and his former companion Oksana Grigorieva has reportedly had a significant impact with this developing project. According to Radar Online, an individual close to Leonardo DiCaprio told the outlet that there's "not a chance" that the actor will now star in the Viking film.

"Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them," Radar's source also stated.

The level of damage that this latest public black eye for Gibson will have on his showbiz career is still not determined yet. What is uncertain is if this storm of public sentiment will significantly stall this project or completely derail it.
