This is the first official photo released by the studio for Breaking Dawn: Edward and Bella in bed together for their first time. Obviously, it's one of the major turning points in the Twilight story, and it sets forward the rest of Breaking Dawn's plotline, the conception of Renesmee.

"Happy Thanksgiving and a crazy Black Friday to all of you and yours," was what Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon tweeted yesterday on the official Twilight Twitter feed. Condon also attached the first image from his movie and it's sure to get the hearts pumping of the Twilight romantics: a close-up of a post-coital Bella's arm wrapped around some down feathers that has escaped from the torn bedsheets of the newly married couple.

Taken's Maggie Grace has been cast as Irena, a new villain introduced in Breaking Dawn. Irena is part of another clan of vampires that don't kill humans and take their blood, making her an ally to the Cullens. However, a tragic incident takes place that makes Irena an enemy of the Cullen family.
Grace will play the character in both Breaking Dawn films.

EW claims that nine-year-old Mackenzie Foy is in final negotiations to play Renesmee in both Breaking Dawn movies. Fans of the Twilight books will know that the character of Renesmee goes from being a newborn to a young adult woman throughout the course of the novel so the first question that will come into their minds is, "How is a 9-year-old girl going to play the character?" It's a good question, and one that will probably involve the use of computer graphics technology of the kind used to age Brad Pitt in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Summit Entertainment has made it official and split Breaking Dawn into two movies. Plans are still on target to release the first Breaking Dawn on November 18, 2011 and the second-half sometime in 2012. Deals have been struck for all of the series' stars to appear in both Breaking Dawns and for Bill Condon to direct both halves.

Summit has finished negotiating deals for all of the actors playing the members of the Cullen family so you can expect to see Peter Facinelli (Carlisle), Ashley Greene (Alice), Kellan Lutz (Emmett), Jackson Rathbone (Jasper), Elizabeth Reaser (Esme), and Nikki Reed (Rosalie) all back in Breaking Dawn.

The Hollywood Reporter's Matthew Belloni states that the reason why Summit Entertainment hasn't as yet officially announced their Breaking Dawn movie has to do with tough salary negotiations with the Twilight franchise's supporting actors. According to the article, deals have now been reached for Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, as well as Peter Facinelli (Edward's father) and Billy Burke (Bella's father), but the studio is still negotiating with the actors playing the Cullen siblings. Belloni singles out Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene as two of the harder negotiations.
And while THR adds that the deal has been made that will see Breaking Dawn split into two movies (to be released in late 2011 and summer 2012), the huge cost of renegotiating the principal Twilight stars at a higher salary of at least ten times what they were paid to be in the first Twilight means that each Breaking Dawn movie could exceed $65 million dollars in their budgets. There's also the possibility that Summit may choose to save money and the hassle by simply recasting Lutz and Greene's roles. Of course, that last bit might be positioning by Summit to scare the actors' representatives into reaching a deal sooner rather than later.
