Ricky Gervais has been cast as the voice of Argonaut, a robotic spy dog, in Robert Rodriguez's reboot of his Spy Kids family film franchise. It's not clear how or if Argonaut is related to the kids.
Although the reboot focuses on new characters, original cast members Antonio Banderas, Danny Trejo, Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara will appear as their characters from the previous Spy Kids films.
Gervais, who created and starred in the original UK sitcoms The Office and Extras, most recently put in a controversial turn as the host of the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards in January.- The Hollywood Reporter Comment on this Scoop (0)
