Alice Eve has been added to the cast. She will play Charlotte's young nanny who apparently, according to Variety, "causes tension among the ladies."

Eve will next be seen in the drama Crossing Over starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd.

Teen singing sensation Miley Cyrus will film a cameo in the sequel. According to Gossip Gog, the Hannah Montana star will appear at an event wearing the same dress that Kim Cattrall's Samantha is also wearing. Fashion disaster in the making or what?

Actor Max Ryan has landed the role of Rikard in the sequel. He's a European architect who becomes Samantha's latest love interest.

Ryan played one of the prison race car drivers in last year's Death Race remake. He's also appeared in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Craven Marsh and Kiss of the Dragon.

18 photos showing Kim Cattrall walking to the set of the sequel have popped up over at Splash News. The 53-year-old actress is wearing a black shapeless dress and sunglasses while striding to work. If the shades were supposed to hide her identity, they didn't do a very good job as Cattrall is surrounded by NYCers who recognized her and have pulled out their digital cameras to get a shot of the celeb.

The first spy photos from Sex in the City 2 have turned up online and show Sarah Jessica Parker standing on a New York City street backlit by the setting sun. My, that sure is a see-through dress, ain't it? More photos here.

According to Production Weekly the sequel will begin filming on August 19 in New York City. The production will remain in the Big Apple for two months before moving to London, England for two weeks of additional filming.

Chris Noth has officially signed on to star in Sex in the City 2 as Carrie's hubby Mr. Big. According to Variety Noth is getting a paycheck that has seven figures written on it. Filming begins on the movie in September.

A story that originally broke in Life & Style magazine about what may be the storyline for the sequel is getting slightly twisted around the more outlets that report on it.

In the original piece an anonymous informant told L&S, "The proposed story line for Samantha will be her having to downsize her big-spending life after some of her investments get wiped out...You will see her having to survive on a more modest budget but still staying true to her fabulous taste."

Also in on the financial mayhem is Big, Carrie's new husband. The same source spilled that after Big's business ventures take a bad hit he has to downsize his lifestyle and move to London into a one-bedroom apartment. "Their marriage is going to face lots of challenges," dished the informant. "Big will be tempted by a younger colleague. It’s a juicy role for whoever they wind up casting."

However, somewhere in the subsequent reporting of the rumored plot points other news outlets began to add their own spin into the story. The Aussie paper The Age added that Carrie finds Big in bed with the new woman, causing her to leave her husband -- and then she finds out that she is pregnant with Big's baby. How did this little addition wind its way into the story?

A release date for Sex in the City 2 has been announced, and it's May 28, 2010.

Deals have been struck with all four Sex in the City leading actresses as well as director/screenwriter Michael Patrick King to come back in a sequel. New Line Cinema is tentatively eyeing a 2010 release for the film. [Full story]
