Disney has released its first trailer for Monsters University, and with it, our first taste of what life was like for Mike and Sully back when they were still learning to scare.

We've learned that the Monsters Inc. sequel is really a prequel, and it has an official title: Monsters University. From that we've also been told that the movie will show us the story of how Mike and Sully first became friends while attending their school to scare little kids.

And we've also learned that Disney has pushed back the release of the movie too, from its holiday 2012 berth to a summer 2013 debut -- specifically June 21, 2013.

Disney has pushed up the release date for Monsters Inc. 2 by two weeks, to November 2, 2012. That's 11 years to the day that the studio opened the first Monsters Inc.

Walt Disney Pictures has officially confirmed that the long-rumored sequel to Monsters Inc. is in development with Pixar Animation Studios. A release date has been given: November 16, 2012, which is 11 years to the month since the release of the original Monsters Inc.

No member of the sequel's creative team was revealed, nor was the storyline for Monsters Inc. 2 or which actors from the original would reprise their roles.
