Pulitzer-winning author and movie screenwriter Michael Chabon has been hired by Disney to rewrite the Magic Kingdom script. Hiring a powerhouse like Chabon to tweak Ron Moore's script is evidence that Disney is serious about making this, and making sure that director Jon Favreau can get the film into producer sooner rather than later.
Chabon performed rewrites on Spider-Man 2 and also worked on Disney's John Carter movie.

He's also attached to direct Me and My Monster and Johnny Zero, both in development at Columbia Pictures.
