TopPremise
Soren, a young barn own, falls out of his nest and is taken to an Academy for Orphaned Owls. There he comes to find comrades that will help him fly away to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, the place where the spirit of the owls is said to reside. There are those that want to stop Soren from approaching the tree and instead desire to become the new, cruel rulers of the owl kingdom.
TopWhat We Think
Guardians of Ga'Hoole is based on a series of 15 young adult books created by Kathryn Lasky. So why is the director of Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen and 300 doing an animated movie that's intended for family audiences? It may be Zack Snyder's first film that won't carry an R rating but in terms of epic fantasy Guardians of Ga'Hoole could easily surpass any of his earlier films. This is one to keep an eye on.
