Deadline reports that Leonardo DiCaprio is "set" to play Hoover in Clint Eastwood's film. "He's going to spread his wings," the site's unnamed source is credited as saying.

Client Eastwood is thinking about making a movie about the life of legendary FBI lawman J. Edgar Hoover. The script for the untitled Hoover biopic has been written by Dustin Lance Black, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter for Milk.

The Hoover movie was originally set up at Universal Pictures with Imagine Entertainment developing it. After a year in development Universal decided to place the project in turnaround. Now Warner Bros. is interested in making the movie via Eastwood's Malpaso Pictures company. [Full story]
