Filming has started on The Iron Lady, a biopic centering on the era of Margaret Thatcher's reign as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Playing the iron lady is Meryl Streep, and this photograph of the actress in her Thatcher makeup and hairstyle was released to the press.

"The prospect of exploring the swathe cut through history by this remarkable woman is a daunting and exciting challenge," said Streep in the press announcement. "I am trying to approach the role with as much zeal, fervour and attention to detail as the real Lady Thatcher possesses – I can only hope my stamina will begin to approach her own!" [Full story]
