In an article speaking of the leaner New Line Cinema (after it was folded into parent company Warner Bros.), president Toby Emmerich leaked the first mention that The Hobbit may not be arriving in theaters until late 2012 -- one year later than what everyone has expected. While making two Hobbit movies with hundreds of effects is still a big financial gamble for the trimmer New Line, it's one that the studio is relatively sure will be a good bet. "It's a big bet for us," said Emmerich to Variety. "But it's one we think will pay off given the success of Lord of the Rings. This is one of the few movies it feels that people are waiting for."

Is she new or are the movie's creators thinking of making one of the (assumed all male) dwarves in Bilbo's party a missus?
