FEAR.net's Spider, a.k.a. the brother to Rob Zombie, used his inside connection and scored an exclusive interview with the filmmaker/family member about why Zombie's making a Halloween sequel.
"After finishing Halloween I was so burnt out that I had no desire to do it again," Zombie explained. "For some reason Halloween was one of those shoots that was stressful and crazed from day one. Everything was a struggle and a problem. So, when it was done I was ready to be done. Then time goes by, you regenerate, forget and the idea of a sequel seems okay. But by that point I thought someone else was already doing it. So I just forgot about it. Then I ran into Matt Stein from Weinstein Company at the Scream Awards and found out that it was still up for grabs. So I grabbed it. I love my version of the characters and can't wait to take them further. This sequel will be different than the first film, much like The Devil's Rejects was different from House of 1000 Corpses."
Zombie also reveals that Tyler Mane is already signed on to reprise his role as Michael Myers and both Scout Taylor Compton and Malcolm McDowell also want to come back. Location scouting has begun and the first day of filming is scheduled for March 9. Finally, Halloween composer Tyler Bates is already working on ideas for the sequel's soundtrack. "He was excited to take another crack at the score and take it to a new level. We have some really cool music ideas going on," said Rob.

Rob Zombie will write and direct the sequel to his 2007 Halloween remake presently titled H2. Dimension Films is anticipating a March 2009 start to filming and Zombie is penning the screenplay right now. Unlike his first film which retold John Carpenter's classic 1978 horror/slasher tale, Zombie's sequel won't mirror the storyline for 1981's Halloween 2 which saw The Shape follow Laurie Strode to Haddonfield Hospital. The new movie will pick off at the end of the first film and follow the "aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted," states Variety in their report about the project. Zombie also offered that he wants to take the franchise in "different directions."
Not mentioned was whether any of the stars from Halloween would reprise their roles in the sequel but V's story did include a piece of promotional artwork.

"My movie has a beginning, a middle and an end — and then I am done. Anything that comes after that? It will not involve me." That's direct from the mouth of Halloween director Rob Zombie about the possibility of him ever doing a Halloween 2. Zombie gave the quote to MTV with a month to go until his movie hit theater screens.
