After helming last year's reboot/remake of Conan the Barbarian, director Marcus Nispel is now developing the Hack/Slash movie for Relativity Media. Nispel also directed the remakes of Friday the 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Stephen Susco is the latest screenwriter to be hired to work on the Hack/Slash screenplay. Susco wrote the script for the American remake of The Grudge and its sequel as well as the upcoming comic book adaptation Red.

Commercials and music video helmer Fredrik Bond is now attached to direct Rogue Pictures' Hack/Slash movie. The studio is hoping that the addition of Bond will push the movie towards its anticipated 2010 start of filming. The latest draft of the script by Justin Marks is said to have a healthy inclusion of comedy to go with the horror quotient. [Full story]
