The good news is, the Dark Knight website is up at thedarkknight.warnerbros.com. The bad news is, all you get for now is a shot of the bat signal. Can’t wait for more to come, even the Joker’s laugh would be great so we could see what Heath (and Nolan) are thinking.

UPDATE: Oops, looks like that Joker makeup test picture was not to be the real thing. AICN updated their story with a link to Superhero Hype’s message boards where the photo-manipulation specialist (going under the name “Max Rockatansky”) comes clean and gives his original sources. He talks about it here and here.

Quint over at Ain’t It Cool News posts a picture that he believes is a picture of a poster for the makeup test for Heath Ledger’s Joker. Lending credence to this being a real photo is that there’s a blurry "Property of Warner Brothers" note, with the WB logo, in the bottom right corner of the pic.

Are these the first pictures of Heath Ledger as the Joker? Superhero Hype put these up, and if you squint through the blurriness of the first two pictures you can see someone who looks like Ledger and who sports green hair and a white-ish face standing outside a trailer (good luck seeing anything in the third photo). The fourth pic either has a CSI unit removing evidence from a mass clown decapitation or some crew members with boxes of clown masks and a wig.

Batman on Film hears that Prison Break’s William Fichter has signed on to The Dark Knight, playing a bank manager (which fits in with BOF’s spy report from yesterday). Love it that Christopher Nolan is casting great actors for what are, presumably, not huge roles.
