Warner Bros. has confirmed that work has begun on converting Clash of the Titans to stereoscopic 3D (S3D). The conversion process is being done by Prime Focus Group, an Indian-based post-production house that recently made a breakthrough in converting 2D filmed shows into 3D more quickly and with less cost.
Warner will also release a 2D verion of their Clash remake when the movie opens on its new release date, April 2.

We've been handed a new photo from Clash of the Titans and the official story synopsis:
"In Clash of the Titans, the ultimate struggle for power pits men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Ralph Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose, Perseus volunteers to lead a dangerous mission to defeat Hades before he can seize power from Zeus (Liam Neeson) and unleash hell on earth. Leading a daring band of warriors, Perseus sets off on a perilous journey deep into forbidden worlds. Battling unholy demons and fearsome beasts, he will only survive if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate and create his own destiny."

The second trailer for Clash of the Titans is online but it's turned up in an unexpected place: YouTube. Someone's uploaded the trailer to that well-known media site and in good quality too. Viral marketing at work, perhaps?

A new production still showing us Liam Neeson playing Zeus has gone up at Entertainment Weekly's website. The new CotT is going in a different direction with its depiction of the Greek gods; unlike the white toga wearing guys and gals on Mount Olympus in the '81 movie, the new Clash's gods look like they're wearing golden armor and have full dark heads of hair.

The November 2009 issue of Empire features a cover with a new photo of Perseus from Clash of the Titans. Inside the book there's two more new photos, one of which looks like our hero holding a cloth sack that's just about the right size to hold the head of a certain demi-goddess that has serpents for hair.

Coming Soon has published a scooper's photo of what they claim is a giant scorpion constructed for the film on the island of Tenerife. Viewers of the original Clash of the Titans will remember a battle that Perseus had with another giant scorpion, so maybe this will be the 2010 version of that fight.

A scan of Sam Worthington as Perseus appears in this month's Empire magazine and was scanned in by a reader of Slashfilm. It's our first look at what Worthington looks like as the bastard son of Zeus and he's certainly dressed more like Brad Pitt from Troy rather than Harry Hamlin did in the original 1981 film.

The Spanish website Las Horas Perdidas has four spy photos of giant statues (fake but cool nonetheless) built on the island of Tenerife for Clash of the Titans. The design of the statues have a mixture of different looks suggesting Greek, Indian and Asian cultures.
