Arnold Schwarzenegger is now attached to headline Captive, a new thriller in development. If the project moves forward, it will shoot next year.

Schwarzenegger would play an American real estate tycoon who is kidnapped in Sao Paolo and held for ransom. While locked up in an armored car parked in a landfill, the businessman tries to find a way to escape. At the same time, a detective that specializes in kidnappings is looking for clues that will lead him to where the captive businessman is.

Captive was written by Benjamin van der Veen and Kario Salem from a story by Nicolai Fuglsig. Producing are Randall Emmett, George Furla and Michael London.

Schwarzenegger is currently filming Last Stand, his first major role since returning to acting. He's also just committed to playing a beefier part in The Expendables 2.
