Buffy's back but she's going to be different than before

It's been 17 months since we last heard of plans to remake Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a feature film. Once a cinematic bomb and then a later more popular television series that ran for seven seasons, Buffy's owners (Fran and Kaz Kuzui) were shopping the remake around. Now they have a screenwriter who has a new angle for a Buffy for the 21st century's teenage decade and a movie studio that will release the film.
