The first image from Brave has been seen and it shows us the movie's main character, Princess Merida. The concept art for Merida riding a horse and pulling back her bowstring is on the top while the rendered image is below.
From our investigation it appears that the image was leaked. A French fansite for Disney and a Facebook fan page for Pixar both ran the image at about the same time yesterday. Today both sites have removed the image and the pages where their stories ran are missing. Were they contacted by Disney's legal department?

Disney has announced a release date for Brave, the Pixar feature that was formerly titled The Bear and the Bow. It will be released June 15, 2012.
The movie is being directed by Brenda Chapman, co-director on the DreamWorks animated feature The Prince of Egypt and one of the writers on Pixar's Cars, DreamWorks Animation's Chicken Run and Disney's Fantastia 2000 and Beauty and the Beast.
It has also been revealed that Reese Witherspoon will provide the voice for the main character, Merida, an impetuous Scottish princess who is at odds with her mother and father because she wants to grow up and become a great archer. Merida's choice bring danger to her father's kingdom and endangers her mother's life from a magical, evil curse.
