Did anyone catch the finale for the US version of Life on Mars?
I think I still have a grand total of 6 episodes left to watch, so I'm behind, but I did read Garth's comparison between the US and UK finales on Dark Horizons, and I've got to say that it sounds suck-tastic.

The UK version is also called Life on Mars. It had a rather different, and somewhat more ambiguous ending If you look on wikipedia, it'll tell you. Since we don't have spoiler tags here, I'll not spoil it here.
well cause i was looking at the BBC programs On Demand and ASHES to ASHES is very similar to Life on Mars except that a female cop is shot and transported from 2008 to 1981 and she has to figure out what happened to get back.
the premise is similar.
Ashes to Ashes is a follow-up to Life on Mars. Gene Hunt and much of the crew return. Series 2 begins soon, IIRC.
Ashes to Ashes was also pretty cool. The cop who was shot was a psychologist who was investigating Sam Tyler's (from Life on Mars) case so she was very surprised when she woke up to find herself with Gene Hunt etc. It does mean that she already knows that it's in her head and a construct to help provide a way out of her coma, therefore they can go a few more places with the plot that the straightforward "Where am I, where am I here?" approach of Life on Mars.

i did... is the UK version also called Life On Mars? or did they retitle it? since it was being canned, I said "at least it HAD some sort of an ending"... unlike My Own Worst Enemy" up and folded without so much as a decent payoff.
i kinda figured Sam was in a coma and he was hearing voices and stuff... this ending was not what I was expecting but I wasnt bummed by it and the clues were laid down for us, after all not every show can end like BSG can... right?
it was all right, I think the weakest part was the second phone call instructions for going home #2 "Duck" ok that part was lame but i think he was "getting it" just when it was time for him to wake up, he had accepted his fate of being a cop in 1973.
how did the UK version end?
