It's time for a new thread!
Felicia Day posted that as well. She seems to be getting annoyed at conent owners lately. First that and then today she complained that the ebook version of a 6-year old book is $9.99, but the paperback is $5.99. Gotta love it when the conent creators get pissed.
eBooks are a fucking rip off.
They cost the publishers next to nothing, yet sell for nearly the same price as physical books. The publishers get more profit, and the author gets...the same.
Are you sure?
I am sure eBooks are a fucking rip off.
I usually get them for free. Unlike the Oatmeal guy (who generally annoys me), I admit freely that I make to pretense toward payment before seeking out the bootleg version.
Goiter doesn't let himself be ripped off by the eBook fucking rip off.
Here's an interview with Carice Van Houten where she talks a little about 'Game of Thrones' (starting at around the 2:52 mark). She strikes me as quite attractive. I don't know if I've ever seen her in anything, but I remember thinking about checking out 'Little Black Book' (I think it was called) when it came out. I think she got naked a lot in that, but maybe I'm misinformed. I'm a little surprised to hear her say that her character in GoT only appears in four episodes this season, even though that seems consistent with the book; she just seems a little high profile to take a part with that amount of screentime. I don't remember if fans had really speculated much on whether they'd give her character more time, but almost everybody seemed to jump to the conclusion that Margaery Tyrell would get more time because she is played by Natalie Dormer, who I don't really think of as being particularly famous. Basically, people are either fans of 'The Tudors', or they don't know who she is (at least in America). Carice also claims in the interview that her character will be back with a vengeance in the third season, but I don't remember her character being in the third book to any greater degree than she was in the second.
ETA: I guess that movie was just called 'Black Book'. Looking at her IMDB profile, I see that she was in 'Valkyrie', which I thought was good (based on her character's name, I guess she played the wife of Tom Cruise's character). She was also in 'Black Death', which was a movie I was mildly interested in watching.
HBO announced yesterday that a new S2 trailer would be going up at midnight EST on their website HBOGo, so it's just gone up and I'm reading fan reactions to it but can't watch it yet myself. People are saying the comet is in (didn't think that would make it into the show), Lightbringer also (cool), and we get to see some of how they're doing dragons and direwolves this season (didn't think there'd be much of those types of special effects until much closer to airing, since they're going to be working on postproduction for the season even as it airs). Anyway, I'm sure one of the fans will have a ripped copy up soon, and I will post it then.
ETA: here's a description of images from the trailer from winteriscoming.net.

It’s a jam-packed trailer.

This is the first confirmation that Ros has made it into season two! I actually didn't think we were going to see her again, since I had checked out the actress's twitter feed a month back (when fans were discussing whether or not she'd be back) and I didn't see any mention of her being involved with S2 and she also tweeted at times about being in NY and LA and I thought maybe those indicated she had other things going on. Anyway, I knew Quasar would be desperate to know this.
Here it is, and I likes it. The scene that somebody claimed showed Ros is at about 13 seconds in, and Littlefinger is talking to her. I wouldn't have recognized her, and I'm still a bit skeptical that it is her, but she does have red hair.
ETA: When Varys says, "Power is a curious thing," I really wanted him to follow with, "Make a one man weep, make another man sing." Another opportunity lost.
Yeah, that Schwimmer really bugs me. Like he could get Aniston, even if she was a waitress.
They were ON A BREAK!
Nell Carter kept asking for a break. Then God gave her one.
It was a forever break.

Even House says they were on a break. And House is always right. Usually after being wrong multiple times in a row and nearly killing the patient. But he's always right in the end, and being right in the end is what's important.
I'm sure it looks like I'm fishing for an anal sex joke from Jakester, but I'm not.
House is forever an ass! Where's the character development?!?!?!?
EW has a new trailer for GoT. This one is pretty cool, and is a more upbeat, action-y type thingy, with prominent use of "pop" music (though I think it's a style of music that fits fairly well with the material).
Also, this is another thing I was going to post before, but must've forgot: according to this list of 46 things somebody claims to have gleaned from the GoT bluray, Ros will become, in the words of the producers, "a relatively major character in season 2." Sweet.
Here's a youtube version, which I assume isn't region protected (I'm assuming a fan put it up), so somebody like Thursty, who just has to watch every video that the rest of us are watching, can be in the loop. Not that I should be catering to people like Thursty.

I was thinking of actually trying to use the HBO On Demand thing to pay for watching the episodes this season, but I absolutely will not until Ros dies AND leaves the show.
I rag on 'The Simpsons' sometimes, but this GoT-styled opening credits isn't bad.
ETA: I was checking the HBO schedule earler in the week (it extends five weeks into the future, so each week it can be checked to get a new title for a GoT episode, and a brief description); fans have used it to confirm the previously rumored titles for the first two S2 eps ('The North Remembers' & 'The Night Lands'), but it wasn't showing a title or description for the third episode. Now the schedule has been updated, and the third episode is 'What Is Dead May Never Die'; I can't help but get a kick out of that one. It's a line repeatedly referenced in the books, and it's the best of the four titles that have been revealed for the new season.
ETAA: This picture of some of the GoT cast from a recent EW photo shoot makes me laugh.
Jon Snow's pose reminds me of this:
HBO has released 'You Win Or You Die', which I can only assume is the worst sweepstakes of all time. I kid. I do it for the Thurstys of the world, whose grim reality provide small chance for laughter. What HBO has actually released is a video which I haven't watched yet, but it's supposed to be like a recap of season one and a preview of season two. BOOM!
msunyata will be reviewing each episode. BOOM!
Many promotional videos have been coming out the past few weeks, but I tired of posting them, or even watching all of them. This collage of cast interviews is pretty good, though, IMO. There are some spoilers for Theon's storyline, but nothing too major.
I read the first book on holiday. I liked it a lot.
I am resisting the 2nd book as I don't want to ruin my enjoyment of the show.
LINK. Here's an article written about Brit accents in fantasy shows and movies. The guy who wrote it asked for opinions at the westeros forums, and I was one of the posters who responded (a link to that thread can be found in the article).
Also, I'm glad Dalty remains alive and unspoilt. We need to have more than just Mal for fresh reactions.
