I had planned to post some videos in the "Funny Videos II" thread, but then I realized that we could have a separate thread for our favorite SNL skits, commercials, or shorts. Many of them aren't actually available on Hulu or NBC.com, so it would be nice to be able to collect a bunch of them in the same place.

A lot of the stuff that used to make me laugh until I hurt on SNL is no longer funny to me. There are some sketches that hold up, I guess. I'll post some of the ones that still hold up for me.
Ah, hell. I'll post some of the ones that don't hold up for me, too.
On second thought, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to participate. I can't view Hulu videos in Germany.

I think everyone likes Christopher Walken's appearances on SNL, but most of the time people just refer to his "Continental" skits and the one with the cowbell. The following is probably my favorite. There's no reason this skit should be as funny to me as it is, but I think much of it probably has to do with Walken's delivery of the lines. I miss Tim Meadows - he can be a really good straight man, but he's great at doing the comedic bits, too.

By the way, Goity, you can probably find alternate sources for these videos if you just do a Google search for the titles of the skits. I'm sure people have uploaded them to video streaming sites other than Hulu.
I used to really love the Toonces sketches. I bought the Toonces collection on VHS when it came out. Unfortunately, it was missing my favorite one (a Driving Miss Daisy parody).
Here's the only full-length one I could find on YouTube:

Neither have you.
(But I see what you did there.)
I'm trying to rewatch a "Solomon and Pudge" sketch (the one with Danny DeVito, and not the one with Lily Tomlin), but every fucking site links to the Hulu video.
One of my favorite monologues, Sinbad dishing on hunting Dracula.
I can't see the clip, but I can see the image they pulled to promote it. It reminded me that I always thought Dana Carvey looked vaguely like Harry Anderson.
It also reminded me that almost all the main dudes in Night Court are my height or taller. Everyone realizes when watching the show that Richard Moll is a tall guy, but they don't realize how tall. Turns out they got him because they wanted someone to tower over John Larroquette, Harry Anderson, and Charles Robinson. Thing is, Larroquette is 6'4½", Anderson is 6'4", and Robinson is 6'3"--so it took someone pretty damned tall. Moll's 6'8", if you were wondering.
We were just talking about this one at work yesterday and sat and watched it a few times. I don't remember it from SNL because I stopped watching it regularly, oh, somewhere around 1974. This is pretty good though.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!
The Nick Burns skit is funny when you see it the first time, but they ran that joke into the ground by making him a recurring character.

I just want to be sure. We all know the show started in '75, right?
That's a Hicks reference. He was over the prequels before Revenge of the Sith even came out.
I specifically chose the year 1974 because everyone knows SNL started in 1975. (Yes, everyone. Even little Ndugu Umbo from Tanzania.) It's taken for granted, like the meaning of ROY G. BIV, or the karate sequence in Elvis's Comeback Special, or the year of Goethe's death.
There was a time when people would look upon my post and flush with the joy of recognition. That time has passed, thanks to Ipsilon.
