The original was way too long and never opened to the most recent page. These things annoyed me enough to come over here.
AND I figured if we have III far shorter equally annoying Random threads, this was well over due.

My friends call jobs of that time span 'hobbies'
Such as "Hey Shawn, how's your hobby going? ha ha."
I'm trying to click on the link in the Breaking News section of the Home page for last Friday's post (Thursty's Box Office post) and it is not visible at the bottom of the section, so I click on "More Stories" and it passes right past the Friday post and the first available at the top of the screen is Thursday.
It is mildly annoying.

That's just the way Thursty likes it: it is in his Goldy Locks zone.
Currently my car annoys me. I had planned to get the oil changed, but apparently it didn't want to go choosing, instead, to kill its own starter.
Now i'm out more money than my hobby can support, and it's still not fully fixed yet.
Adam's car is dying, too. Oh christ, I hope mine isn't next.
*sigh* It's the first car I ever owned. Worked a lot of hours at a job I didn't like to pay for every penny of it. Kinda sad to see it go. The transmission is really starting to slip, and I'll be surprised if it makes it to the end of the week at the rate it's falling.
And my God I can't afford a car payment right now. Ugh ugh ugh.
Hope you're spared Jake, but these things do come in threes.

Can't you buy a proper wreck and just drive it until it falls apart?
Off the lot?
Or from Autotrader (or US equivalent) etc??
First car I owned cost me £50 and did me fine for a year.
I already own a proper wreck that I'm going to drive until it falls apart. Though I did find a way to get to school today without setting foot in my car, so I've got that going for me.
It was a pleasant surprise today when I saw a cute blonde girl with her tits out on my FB news feed, courtesy of The Onion. Apparently too many people bitched about it, so it disappeared. But I still have the picture on my iPhone. Oh yes.....She's really cute.

I'm sure I am the last person to figure this out, but I was able to get to the link. The Tab button on a keyboard is a stroke of genius! No Jakester, I did NOT say stroke my penis...well, I didn't until now.
You mean this blonde?Jakester wrote:

And now you can't take it back.

I don't like her lips. She reminds me of Linda McCartney, and I never found her attractive.
Color me shocked. Goiter doesn't think a hot chick's hot.
I can't see the link on my work computer -- The Onion is blocked. But their FB page isn't. :)
Current Annoyance
The word "guesstimate." "Estimate" already implies that you're venturing a guess to the best of your ability. There's no need to bring the word "guess" into the equation.

Well, not really. When you make an "estimate," you're usually making a calculation based on something you know or can sense: for instance, I see a lady with crow's feet but no gray hair, so I estimate she's in her 40s. Or I look around the stadium, know its capacity is 109,901, and see a few empty seats, so I estimate the attendance today is between 108-109,000. As m-w.com says, "estimate = to judge tentatively or approximately the value, worth, or significance of; to determine roughly the size, extent, and nature of."
When you make a "guesstimate," you're usually talking out of your ass. As in, I have no clue but I'll make a guess anyway. For instance, I see that crowd but I can't remember what the stadium capacity is, so I'll just say 95,000 because that sounds big. As m-w.com says: "an estimate usually made without adequate information."
FYI, Merriam-Webster cites the first instance of "guesstimate" as 1923, so your outrage is a little late.
Oh, SNAP!
If you're venturing a guess regarding the capacity of a stadium, as per your example, it would suffice to call it a guess. According to the definition you provided above, an estimate is pretty much an educated guess, which is why putting another "guess" in front of it would be redundant.
