There's an ad for this show on this site with the tagline "Sometimes life raises the barre". I don't know what a barre is, or what the title Bunheads is in reference to. So I looked up "barre". It's the stationary handrail used during ballet warmup exercises. And I suppose ballerinas put their hair up into buns, eh? I never would've put any of that together just based on the ad.
