B-S-FRAKKING-G!

Posted by Jakester on Friday, February 27, 2009

So, piano dude wasn't there. Kara's playing "All Along the Watchtower" and Hera's composing it.

What's it mean? Since her Dad taught it to her, I'm going with the theory that Daniel is her Daddy.

The Chief is a moron. And yet, unlike last week, I totally bought his actions.

Then again, Katee's pretty good at lying to the press.

So we got some more backstory of some of the main characters. Why? Dunno. It seemed unnecessary at this point, unless we have some sort of revelation about Lee killing Roslin's family. But even then...why now?
Baltar's flashback seemed incongruous with how he was portrayed in S1 and S2, but there's one episode left. I hope the finale lives up to the quality of the previous episodes and doesn't end on a satisfying note.

Maybe the backstory was meant to pave the way for 'Caprica'?

We've got a 2 hour finale.. hopefully they'll use it to tie it all up.

Fingers crossed.

BSG is confusing the hell out of me. The back-story episode left me with mixed feelings. On one hand, it was BSG at its finest. The characters were so rich, wonderfully acted and their stories beautifully told. No OTT acting, hamming or drama - simply real people you really care for. It felt perfect, so close to the final curtain, to allow us to feel just a bit closer to them.

That said, I am thinking - WHAT THE FRAK??!!!! Two hours left and you're going to explain everything???!!!!

BSG has never failed us or let us down - they've earned my trust that they won't pull a Chris Carter on us.

I will really be saddened to see this fine show end. Yet strangely, I feel that I've gotten so close to the show and it's characters that I really want to see some genuine closure for them; sort of an end to their long suffering.

My guess is that they send in a small ship to rescue Hera first and when that returns (hopefully with Hera) the Battlestar Galactica will fly off into the sunset with one or quite possily several VERY large explosions!

I'm sure that they have planned some sort of closure to the Kara Thrace storyline or else they wouldnt be dropping all these little clues since the season started up again. if they didnt plan on explaining her death and rebirth, then why show her finding her body and recovering her dogtags and burning her body.... plus I still think theres more to that Viper she arrived in that "just the map to Earth" because earth seemed to be one big red herring... they were only ON Earth for like one show, (one day)...then they left it again for outer space.

Does anybody else think that Ron Moore has planned future Battlestar Galactica made-for-TV movies with this current cast? ...outside next week's series finale?

(kinda like how they wrapped up Farscape with a special 4 hour movie?)

I've already said it in another forum I'm into: whatever future BSG has (DtDVD, TV movie), they better go with the current cast. Ed. J Olmos and Katee (as well as the other actors) *ARE* Adama and Starbuck.

Out of all the ideas that have come across on this thread and with others I talked to; the entire 'going back in time' catch, almost seems the most possible. Yes, it would make the most sense but with some of you I also agree that with this long ass journey everyone went through, to throw an idea like that out there would seem lazy.

Out of the last couple of epi. I still can not believe what the Chief did...I do not think I can forgive him for that unless he does something heroic. I know he did not know that Boomer was taking the kid but come on dude, wake the fuck up and realize what you are doing...

Meh. He trusted her, and hell, he's one of the Final Five. Surely she wouldn't play HIM.
Love can make you do stupid things. I bought those actions much more than his voting to leave the fleet.

Yeah, when he said he wanted to leave the fleet, after everything that went down...it almost seemed like a cop-out....

Agreed, Strider. That ship is done for. Also....the hybrid said Kera was the harbinger of death...I am still waiting on that one....

I think we were shown Kara was the harbinger of death when she went batshit bringing them to earth - which contained nothing but a lot of death. she didn't bring them their deaths, no, but she brought a great big picture of death to them, as well as the death of their only hope, really.

That is the impression I got, Mind. I could be wrong but in Razor the hyrbid said DO NOT TRUST KARA THRACE....and then something along the lines of she is the harbinger of death.

This quote is the only thing that is making me think the series will not end happily ever after...but then again, it's all happened before...and it will all happen again...

Sci-Fi, I mean, SyFy, has edited all future airings of BSG to better align with corporate goals. The scrolls of Pythea will now guide the fleet to the nearest KFC and Kara Thrace is the harbinger of popcorn chicken.

It's so good that you had to say it twice!

On another note, I won't be able to watch the finale tonight, so I'll have to watch it later this weekend. Word has it that the episode will run 11 minutes extra, so that means we're getting 2 hrs and 11 minutes of goodness. Make sure to let your DVRs know about it....

Dude, you have my sympathies! I will probably start Terminator at 9 and then start BSG when that's over. I should be able to miss the commercials that way.

Who's down for a separate "Finale Party" thread? I echo most of everyone's sentiments about the last season in this thread. This show, this CREW, has pulled me and countless others in more than any other show that I can recall. TNG comes close, but this is that show grown up. I'll be watching tonight, and I'll be here during commercials if anyone else cares to join.

I bought BSG:Razor but dont own any of the other box sets (well Razor isnt a "box set" at all) Still, I'm going to miss the Cylons when it comes to Caprica TV show spin-off.

at what point will they find life out there in the universe... that isnt robotic? I really miss my Ovions they never introduced any other races in this show either :O)

I'll see you guys in a couple of days. I've always been a no-spoiler guy, so I'm gonna lay low and wait.

Rest assured I'll be here the second I finish watching it on sunday.
