Bailout coming?
It's a bad time for media in general, old media at any rate.
Air America has been in a "failing" mode since it's inception. They enjoyed a few years of success and launched a couple of careers, but the product has an inherent flaw that prevents it from working commercially.
It doesn't piss anyone off.
"Right Wing" media has been a cash cow product for year and years because it does a better job of polarizing both sides of the political argument in this country.
It makes sense when you think about it. Listen regularly (as I used to) to hosts like Stephanie Miller, Tom Hartman, Bill Press, Randy Rhodes, Ed Schultz and formerly Al Franken and Rachael Maddow. Their platform is to argue against Republican and Conservative activity and view points with their own particular viewpoints and reasoning.
Right Wing media does the same thing, except that as I have listened to those hosts, including the poster-child like Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Glen Beck (back in his primarily radio days), Mark Levin, Laura Ingram and the television converts like Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.
(Yeah BTW unlike most people who vehemently argue politics, I listen to both sides equally)
Here is the difference, and why "right wing" radio has been commercially successful.
Conservatives and Libertarians don't tune in regularly to "left wing" hosts.
Liberals and Independents DO listen to those "lefty" hosts for validation and talking points.
Meanwhile,
Conservatives and Libertarians DO tune in to the "righty's" AND
So do the Liberals and Independents. Why?
To get pissed off. To hear for themselves the viewpoints they disagree with and get fired up about it. See what I'm saying? Liberals listen to the "rightys" but Conservatives "don't" listen to the "lefties"
End result, Conservative Radio gets twice the audience. Advertisers go where the bigger audience is.
If my mother had had Buford fixed, maybe he wouldn't have been shot through the spine by my neighbor.
At least he died with his head held high and his balls swinging low. Not that he could feel them, with that bullet hole through his spine.
And I guess his head was only held high on account of my mother holding it over her shoulder as he breathed his last breaths.
Good ol' Buford.

Never liked that show. Shrill, unappealing charaters. Same goes for Friends, Two and a half Men, Everyone Loves Raymond.

Seinfeld fans are a mid-life crisis.

Okay........
South Park sucks ass.
Sorry to come on as such a hater, but Hollywood seems to have lost any originality. Remakes, reality shows, sequels and crude cartoons.
Saying you hate South Park because Hollywood lacks originality is like saying you don't like Bushmills because you only drink Irish Whiskey.

Well, why not, really? These threads all end up in the same shit storm anyway.
