Adam's Gas Price Roundup

Posted by Adam54 on Monday, March 7, 2011

I figured this was worthy of it's own thread, which I assume will be hijacked in due course. Post your local gas price, and if nothing else this'll be fun to look back at in a few months and say "Wow, $3.50. Those were the days."

I saw a range between $3.54 and $3.69 today. I'm assuming by the end of the week that will be a range of $3.69 to $3.85ish. Summer scares me.

How much is it near you?

In honor of Independece Day (the holiday, not the movie), I shall spit in Dalty's direction.

My station jumped from 3.19 to 3.35 overnight. However, that puts is squarely in the range of almost all of the other stations in Dallas. My guess is someone got a little overzealous and lowered it too quickly.

Actually I meant tomorrow tomorrow, not today tomorrow. Here in Michigan we are celebrating the holiday by paying 20 cents extra per gallon, as the price jumped up to $3.75. Good thing I filled up yesterday.

Go (or drive) the extra mile and pay for the additional 20 cents per gallon, just to be patriotic on Independence Day and help keep our economy afloat!

Goits' local theater should bump up tickets a buck whenever they see him and jubbers pull into the lot. Like mere money would turn him away from seeing Hoodwinked III: Bears Shitting in Trees.

Gas prices haven't budged since those assholes jacked it up before the 4th to gouge all the travelers.

Prices have been weird here lately. It's been $3.25 for about the past week, then on Tuesday it jumped to $3.49, then yesterday it dropped to $3.47, then $3.44, now today it's down to $3.39.

I got gas in central PA last Friday and it was $3.49 on the way to NY.  Got gas again on Tuesday in northern PA on the way back and it was $3.59.  Got gas last night in my other vehicle in MD and it was $3.49.  I think they just throw a dart at a board in the morning and that is the price.

We're at $3.69. I do not know how or why, but it's gone up roughly 38 cents in two weeks and I'm not thrilled.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said anything. After I complained it hadn't moved, it immediately jumped to $3.54.

I paid $2.93/gal yesterday.

The local Shell station has a $0.05 cents off /gal on Thursdays, so gas was $3.53/gal. Then I had $0.60 off per gallon w/ my grocery store card. I was way too happy.

Maybe I could afford stuff if I got a double digit raise.

In this case, I mean money.  I don't mean someone showing me both middle fingers.

So two weeks ago we were at $3.59/gal. Then we dropped to $3.49/gal. After the whole kerfuffle with the debt thing, we plummeted to $3.19, the crept up to $3.21 and then $3.29 where we've stayed for a little while. I got gas this morning at $3.29, and on my way home for lunch, I saw that it had jumped back up to $3.47. *Angry face, shakes fists*

Here in North Texas, we're mostly at the 3.30s, although the cheap station I use was at 3.24 this morning.

For once, I beat the jump. Last Friday I decided to fill up on my way to the (animal) shelter, got a full tank at $3.49. On my way home four hours later, it was $3.75. Now it's back down around $3.59. We used to have cheaper-than-national-average gas here in Michigan. I don't know what happened. (Or actually, I do, something about refineries and demand and shit, but I don't understand it.)

I just spent a week at the beach and found myself saying, "Wow, $3.34, that's a great price, I should fill up."  Remember the days when $3.34 was a BAD price?  Didn't think so...
